disconnected

I recently installed some updates and now every time I close a window or tab
I am totally disconnected from the internet. This also happens when I use my
address book in e-mail. How can I close a window without totally exiting?

Wow - that seems like a strange problem.

Could you describe what Operating System (Windows XP or Windows Vista - if
either) and what service pack level you are at (none, SP1a, SP2 or SP3 for
Windows XP and none or SP1 for Vista) and which updates you recently
installed (Control Panel --> Add or Remove Programs --> Show Updates
checkbox should be checked - scan through the list and look for the latest
things installed OR those installed on or about on the date you recall
installing updates)?

When you say, "... every time I close a window or tab I am totally
disconnected from the internet ...", do you mean literally - no internet
activity and you have to reboot or do something else to get Internet
connectivity back - or did you mean the entire Internet Explorer window
closes or something less drastic? (Or are you unsure?)
