Tried burning a DVD-R in Vista and it takes hours, data slows down to bytes
per second! Tried using a CD-R but every time I put one in it says Windows
was unable to format, tried it with two different brands to. All discs burn
fine in Roxio 9 without any issues. I uninstalled it just to see if it was
effecting Vista's built in burning feature, but after I unsinstalled it and
rebooted it was still burning the discs slow. Does anyone have any ideas?
Is this a known issue in Vista?

FX-53 Overclocked @ 2.56ghz
2GB Ram
X800XT 256MB
NEC 740A DVD-RW

I haven't tried RW's yet. However I did notice that the estimate time to
burn the disc is reaaaaalll off and my my discs were burning without and
problems. They would finish well before the timer said they would. Oh well
heres hoping for a fix in the first service pack.

I am having a problem similar, with the exception that -R and +R disks work
fine. My problem is packet writing to RW disks takes forever. For me to
copy 1.5 gig of files, it takes an hour or so, then it doesn't work properly.
No problems with the afore mentioned disks. I have Cyber Link Power 2 Go
preinstalled, but I installed, and am using EMC9 to do the -R disks. I
uninstalled the Drag to Disk which EMC9 installed, but no matter whether I
try it with D2D or without, I still have the same result. Same disks I use
successfully on my other Gateway computer with XP.
