Gentlemen, There is a lot of nonsense garbage appearing at this group.
Aren't there any parental controls here, or is this just a first amendment
free speech-plus free-for-all???

Yes there is a lot of nonsense in here. Microsoft doesnt monitor the
newsgroups and there isnt a designated Moderator. So it is basically a free
for all.

HOWEVER.... if you use a newsreader and access the groups via
news.microsoft.com you WILL see a lot less of that "nonsense" than
other new servers show.

Filters are obviously in place to block messages/threads that include
obscenities. That takes care of 90% of the threads that "Frank",
"Ringmaster", "Alias" and the half-dozen others (and their sock
puppets) of the same ilk like to play in.

Or rather than just ignore, learn to use the killfile.

Unfortunately, Gregory is using the web interface to this newsgroup. Besides
being the slowest, clunkiest, most error-prone method there is, it is
missing things like a killfile. Gregory should do himself a favor and switch
to a newsreader, such as Outlook Express, which comes with Windows XP or
Windows Mail, which comes with Vista..

Those that fall into the second group will claim the word "general" means
they can post whatever they please in this NG. It's their justification for
being trolls.
