Disk Clean Up windows 2000 Professional

I have defragged and cleared all cookies, but when I try and do a Disk
Cleanup it just freezes. I see alot of post about thi, but they are all
pertaining to Windows XP. If anyone can help please let me know.

Hi Mark,

If Disk Cleanup is freezing at the "Scanning:Compress old files" stage, try
the Workaround in this MSKB article:
Disk Cleanup Tool Stops Responding While Compressing Old Files
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=812248

Although it specifically references XP, it is also applicable to WIN2K.

thanks for the help but am wondering how I get the MSKB article also when I
try to run the disk Cleanup program...my performace goes to 100% is this the
same problem...
