Normal response to a defrag or check disk on drive C:
You reboot the computer and let chkdsk run.
Or you can boot into safe mode, Run cmd<enter>. Type chkdsk c: /f
<enter> at the prompt.
After Chkdsk runs, you can then do a defrag c: <enter> at the same
prompt.
