a Disk error occured press CTL+ALT+delet to restrat

i have virtual pc for MCITP enterprise administrator, before doing anything i
backup it in external physical harddisk.
i installed virtual pc 2007 ,and run virtual pc(vista+windows server 2008),
all virtual pc run and threre is no any problem. after 2 week , i try to run
vista virtual pc, the message appear at the begining " a Disk error occurred
Press CT+ALT+Delete to restart. when i press CLT+ALT+Delete the same error
appear. i try to use fresh virtual vista pc (from backup) but the same error
appear. please i need your help to solve and fix error

I would start by checking to see if there is anything wrong with the
physical disk.
