Ok I'm new @ vista but I find 'desktop.ini' on the desktop. So what do I do
with those? TIA

Leave them, they are system files. And you should change your folder
settings so that such files are not shown.

In Explorer:
Tools > Folder options > View tab > Do not show hidden files and system
files.

Nothing.
Vista uses them to store information about how to display the folder.
