I know you can check the bitrate of a file under its properties but I would
like the bitrate to be displayed while the file is playing. This is possible
in winamp but I would like to know how/if its possible to do in WMP.

I don't have an answer for you...but maybe you will have one for me. I can't
get it to stop showing the bitrate, and have no idea how it got turned on. If
you have a second after you get your answer would you mind telling me how to
turn it off?

Which version of WMP are you using? Also, can you post a screenshot of where
the bitrate shows? We may be able to resolve the issue between the two of us.

wmp 11

The screenshot wouldn't work, so I made a recreation of it. I didn't know
how to load a pic here, so here is a link to the pic online. The shot of the
moon is a regular video and the green writing is the stuff that I can't turn
off.

Yes it is, I can't get it to stop. Don't know how it started tho. I think it
happened when I accidentally pushed a button on the keyboard while a video
was playing...Maybe.

When I click the link, it asks me to login to myspace and I don't have an
account. If you can, try tinypic.com. Its real easy to post a picture on
there w/out needing to create any type of account.

That'd likely be a third party plug-in, not something native to WMP. =\

something called "OSD"

The bitrate was showing because of the codec package I downloaded. If you
download the ffdshow audio decoder and check the "OSD" option you should get
the same results i did.
