display photos gone?

help! im pulling out my hair here -- when i'm chatting to a friend in the
message window -- i no longer see both mine and their display photo. i went
'hide display photos' in the bottom left corner of the window and cannot
figure out how to get them back! i have gone into tools > options > general
-- 'Show display pictures from others' is checked. i have gone through it
all about 5 times..

i see their photo popup when they log-in at the bottom.. and see my photo at
the top of the messenger main console.. but i have lost the display of photos
when im in a chat window.

look at the "attached item"? are you referring to an attached screenshot?

Sean, matt is using the web based newsreader on microsoft.com, not a client,
so therefore, he cant see the attachment.

my coworker showed me that 'little arrow' near the top right of the of
windows

thanks guys -- i feel really stupid -- but i spent 20 minutes going through
all the options trying to re-check that field somewhere!
