Display the pictures of contacts in main window as thumbnail

Hi,

The pictures of contacts in main window as thumbnail is not display
"picture" when it is set to Small thumbnails, it just show the green buddy
msn icon... this is working in msn messenger 7. It is useful when i have many
contacts in the list. if i switch to large thumnails then i have the minimum
viewable contacts.

Greetings Jason,

I'm afraid this is by design in Windows Live Messenger. However, if you don't like that view
and would prefer to small versions, you can do by using an "unsupported" (aka no stamp of
approval from Microsoft) patch. The "Mess" Patch will do this for you which you can find
here:
http://www.mess.be
(look for the Mess patch link in the top headlines).

The feature in question is "Show Small Display Pictures In Normal View.

HI Jonathan,

Thanks for your reply, it would help, but it may caused problem when
Messenger is launched new version, i have this problem last time. Just think
of u guys will add in this feature to future versions(in 8.1)

And i hope in the Download Messenger page, display the product version bcos
sometimes we dunno what version we are download..

Hi Jason,

Yes, I hope it will return too.

You can always find out what version you're getting by using the Microsoft Download Center as
opposed to the Messenger site:
