Yes they're there. But, they'll only be the 96x96 compressed Messenger versions, not the
original large ones.
Assuming you're using Windows Live Messenger 8.0, click Start, then Run, enter
"%appdata%\microsoft\msn messenger" and click OK.
Next you'll need the encoded version of your Messenger Passport to get to the right folder.
You can find the folder ID by typing in your Passport e-mail address here:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/msngrid.aspx
After going into the correct folder, click the UserTile folder and you'll find the files
there. They're named .DAT files but they're really PNGs, just copy and rename them.
