DLL error

I am not able to get windows updates. When I go to properties on "My
Computer" I get the following error message:
The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuaucpl.cpl is not a valid
Windows image. Please check against your installation diskette.

I am not sure what to do.
