Can anyone please tell me why this following message has appeared on both my
laptop and home computer after installing the latest Windows Update
(02.04.07) and how to solve this....

"The systemDLL user32.dll was relocated in memory. the application will not
run properly. the relocation occurred because the DLL occupied an address
range reserced for Windows system DLLs. The vendor supplyin the DLL should be
contacted for a new DLL."

I only used the Windows Update service as ususal and do not no why this has
happened.

Thanks
Donna

See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/935448/en-us for a hotfix.
You may also want to try disabling the Realtec HD Audio Control Panel
(aka RTHDCPL.EXE) via Start -> Run -> msconfig in case you don't make
use of the panel anyway. The same applies for the application reporting
the error in your case.

Bye,
Freudi

This message simply indicates that RTHDCPL (RealTek HD audio Control Panel)
can't load at boot. You don't need to disable the utility manually, as it's
basically disabled already - all you lose is the RT HD cpl. You can simply
ignore the message on boot, or you can install the fix documented in the
link below.

In comparing the risk of the security issue vs the temporary loss of the
RealTek HD utility, if possible you should leave the security update
installed.

Sure, but you'll see an error message of an starting application, you
may never ever made use of. Note that the OP didn't mention rthdclp.exe
causing the error message.

Sure.

BTW: I found and find it somewhat "strange", that KB935448 requires
an WGA check (cause it's labled an optional update?) and is not offered
via WU/MU/AU yet. Is that subject to change on April 10th or any time?

TIA,
Freudi

Possibly...still looking into that option.

Releasing KB935448 via WU/MU/AU would be highly appreciated, John! :-)
- aside from the fact, that it's IMHO a *must* to do that.

TIA,
Freudi
