DMZ - Windows update

Hello,
Could you tell me the best way to configure the windows update for servers
( windows 2003 ) in a DMZ ?
I know that's possible to use a server WUS on the domain but not very
usefull and I'm not sure that's very secure ( maybe with ssl)
