DNS Cache issue in windows server 2008

Scenario

The users are complaining of having no internet access on their workstations.
Some users are reporting that "some" websites are working while others are
not.

Our solution at the moment

The Solution for this is to clear the DNS cache. This is done by the usual
way of start -> Administrative tools -> DNS, right clicking the server and
selecting clear cache.

But this is not a permanent solution as the problem comes back eventually
within a month or 2.
Why this is happening I do not know, it is only specific to 2008 and is
peculiar.
It seems to only effect websites/address that have already been visited,
this is why some sites are still accessible.

Any help anyone can provide would be great. We have 4 seperate domain
servers at different locations with this exact same problem (none of them
related). All of them being microsoft small business server 2008
thanks

Hello Matt,

Do you use only domain DNS servers on the clients NIC and Forwarders on the
DNS server to your ISP?

Best regards

In addition to Meinolf's suggestions, does your edge firewall support EDNS0?
What brand and model is your firewall?

You are not alone in this issue. DNS queries against the SBS server fail
except for some recently resolved addresses until the cache is cleared.
DNS from the router web interface still works fine ruling out external
failure. Changing the router from the ISPs to Google's doesn't help either as
the client are still querying the dodgey internal Microsoft DNS server.
Even reboots of the server doesn't solve the issue.
