DNS FQDN issues

I have an issue with computer resolving FQDN from the DNS server.

We have a dom called FIN.local and a childn called MA.fin.local.

Member computers of MA.FIN.Local are resolving to just FIN.Local dropping
the MA.

I've checked both DNS servers in MA.Fin.local and FIN.Local domains and the
computers are missing for the forward lookup zone. They are listed in the
reverse lookup zone with the correct FQDN.

When pinging the computer we can ping by the short name but not the FQDn
unless we drop the MA domin.

Any suggestions?

This can depend on many things.

Search suffix
Primary DNS suffix
How is the DNS infrastructure setup? Is it a parent - child delegation, or
do all machines use the same DNS server(s)? If they use the same servers,
what replication scope is ma.fin.local and fin.local?

Let's start off by providing us with an unedited ipconfig /all of the
following, PLEASE (this will help us understand your resolving
infrastructure and to reduce questions):

1. A DC in fin.local.
2. A sample workstation joined to fin.local.
3. A DC in ma.fin.local
4. A sample workstation in ma.fin.local.

Thank you,
