Hi all,

We have windows 2003 R2 DNS server with active directory integrated zone.
If I check the forward lookup zone and any A record, each A record has TTL
which is 15 minutes. What is TTL 15 minutes? Should we change it?

Thank you.

That's the Time To Live. It's the length of time the record will stay in the
client side cache once it's been queried by the client. While it's in cache,
subsequent queries will look at the cache first and use it. Once it expires,
a subsequent query will go to DNS to resolve it, then it's put in cache
again.

No need to change it. If you make it longer, and a DC's IP or something else
changes, the longer it will take that machine to get the right answer.
