I know you can type slmgr -rearm to continue using the trial period for a
total of 120 days. However, I can't get to the command prompt, as all I see
is the web browser. Is there a shortcut command or something I can do to get
to the command prompt? Microsoft has said your allowed to do it, but I
haven't used the computer in a few days and forgot to type it in.

Also, is there a way I could save all my files and unistall vista and
reinstall XP? A lot of things don't work right with it. The main reason I
want to keep it activated is just to save all my files and settings.

Click the Start button and choose All Programs > Accessories > Command
Prompt.

Or click Start type com and click Command Prompt.

Should work either way.

My copy of Vista is already in reduced functionality mode, so the only thing
I can access is the command prompt. Is there any way to backup my data, or
do I have to format my hard drive to reinstall xp. I don't want vista on my
system anymore, all I want is to save my files on my hard drive.

Choose File then open
Try entering c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe ( will it let you do this)

Open the browser and type C: in the Address Bar and click Enter. Click
the Allow Button, this will open Windows Explorer.

Navigate to C:\Windows\System32. Locate the cmd.exe file and right
click, Run As Administrator.

This should get you to the command prompt.
