I have Windows Mail issues (I can't exit it). Dell suggests I do a PC
Restore (since when I go as administrator to Repair Computer I'm told my
account is disabled). Dell thinks system is corrupt and suggest I do a PC
Restore. However, I must back up all data before. I have documents,
pictures, Outlook Contacts and Windows Mail contacts. How do I do this?

Try these:
Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories and right-click
on the Command Prompt and choose "Run as administrator".
Type in: SFC /SCANNOW and press your Enter key.

If that does not work, try repairing your system. Boot from your Windows
Vista DVD, select the System Repair Option > on the setup screen, select
'Repair Computer > Select your installation of Windows > select Startup
Repair option and follow instructions. After that has completed, try
creating the System Restore Point.

You can burn your docs and photos to CD. Just open up Windows Explorer.
It is one of the choices across the top once you select something. You can
do multiple random selects by holding down Control while you select folders
to burn, or hold Shift down to select say1-10 folders, click at the top, then
the bottom, or click on Edit> select ALL.

As for your Outlook contacts, you can save them in an Excel file.

I did your 1st suggestion. At the end the message there was that the scan
was 99% complete. "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was
unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log
windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log.
For example c:\windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log." I tried going to this but my
access was denied.
