How do I disable pop up blockers and firewall programs?

I need to find out how to disable pop up blockers and firewall programs just
temporarily due to I am downloading programs which I purchased from a
reliable source.

Click start, and type :
services.msc
hit enter

Turn off the Windows Firewall service.

In the IE browser, Tools menu, point at "Popup Blocker" and then check the
"Turn OFF popup blocker" item
