How do I install MS.NET framework 3.5 SP1 etc.?

I do not have .NET framework 3.0. Do I need that before downloading .NET
framework 3.5 SP1 & .NET framework 3.5 family update for .NET v 2.0 thru 3.5?
Do I need to turn off antivirus in Live One Care and turn off SpyBot Search &
Destroy before downloading? Please help!!!!!

No .NET 3.0 does not need to be installed.

Always best to turn off any "Active" AV software
before installing any update.

What is the edition of Windows installed ?

IF this is XP and no .NET runtimes higher than 2.0 are installed,
strongly suggest you install .NET SP2 and the application compatability
for .NET 2 SP2 instead of .NET 3.5 SP1 and the .NET Family updates:

Click the download button for Windows 32 bit [x86] if that is the
installed edition of Windows, NetFx20SP2_x86.exe

The app/compat update is at the bottom of this page:

Click the download button next to NDP20SP2-KB958481-x86.exe

*Save* both downloads, close the browser and any other open programs.
Now install NetFx20SP2_x86.exe
Reboot if requested to.
Then install NDP20SP2-KB958481-x86.exe, restart if requested to.
