Do I need .net framework 1.0 or 1.1 if I have 2.0 installed? I know for
instance updating Java versions might disrupt custom software running on a
computer. Will .NET framework do the same or is .NET 2.0 a "rollup" of all
previous versions?

Windows version?

Why do you ask, and why do you ask in a Windows Update-specific newsgroup?

The different versions of .Net Framework are separate and not
cumulative.
Whether you need 1.0 or 1.1 depends on how you use your computer.
Generally if a program needs it, you will be informed to install it.
Until then, there is probably no need.

However if you have any version installed, 2.0 in your case, you
should also install patches and Service Packs for that version to help
keep it secure.
