Ask for your money back if you got sucked in.

Such blanket statements such as this are usually wrong.
First you seem to assume everyone that bought was "sucked in".
That ignores the fact that many researched their computer
capabilities, their needs and determined suitability in advance of the
purchase.
Similar to what most do before spending that level of resources on
anything.

Windows Vista works fine on two older computers of mine and many
others report similar success.

I have no need to ask for my money back. but you should since Windows
Vista is obviously not for you.

Vista is very bad.

In here you will get mostly stupid replies from fanboys attacking you
because you had the courage to stand up to the system that wants to gobble
everything up.

There are a few people in here that warn against using vista .... all you
had to do was ask a question in this newsgroup.. you would get their
opinions also.

In this case fanboy (but could be female too) = Vista fanatic

Someone who is dumb enough to love vista so much that they close their ears
and eyes to all the proof that vista is crap.

A good way to imagine them is like monkeys swinging in trees.

True for 32-bit Vi$ta. Not true if you play games...

Call me a fanboy if you want but I consider an OS that runs
everything I want to run and does it without complaint to be
a good OS. Vista does that on my machine. I did have a few
problems in the beginning but they turned out to be hardware
related. A new power supply and RAM fixed the flakiness.
Is Vista perfect? Of course not. Even XP which has had
numerous patches over the years is still a work in progress.
After Vista has been on the market for as long as XP, it will be
even better then XP is today (if it lasts that long). As for Linux,
it simply isn't an option for most people.
At work the OS they use is usually decided on by IT. At home,
they need complete compatibility with work. So it goes. I've
tried Red Hat, Linspire, Ubuntu and Debian. Not one of them
gives me anything I can't get from Vista. I'm not pretending
to speak for everyone. I can only relate my own experience
and so far it's a good experience with Vista.

Unlike you, who is to dumb to actually sit down and use Vista in order
to give an accurate assesment.

It's ironic that when we reply to your posts, requesting that you
provide us with evidence to support your claims, you disappear like a
fart in the wind.

If you believe Vista is so bad, then I again suggest you prove it. I
challenge you to join us in a debate where we can all act like the
adults we are and provide arguments and counter arguments on the topic
of Vista and it benefits?

Or are you too busy keeping your own eyes and ears closed to be
bothered with proving yourself?

I wasn't sucked-in. I like it a lot.
There are a few bugs - for example, sometimes applications can't be killed
no matter what, however, to me (a person who uses Solaris/tcsh all day at
work), it's a mighty relief to have a polished GUI (admittedly, without Aero
and Sidebar - too gimmicky) .
I know it's trendy to bash Vista, DRM, Micro$oft, etc, however, for a honest
casual user - word-processing (using Student Edition of Office 2007 with its
revolutionary GUI), emails (whose GUI isn't so revolutionary and I'm having
a problem with Page Setup from a shared printer), DVD/TV playback on Media
Centre with my X10-based remote, I think M$ has done really well.
I think Vista needs SP1 (for both practical reasons and to bolster its
credentials) - Micro$oft has said so, and it's coming, so why wallow?
If you like free operating systems like Solaris or Linux or whatever, that's
great - use it to your heart's content but don't imagine your opinion
overrules others'. As for me, there's no way I'd recommend Linux to computer
iliterate unless its all been perfectly installed and locked and after SP1,
I'd recommend Vista to everyone.
