The exact same thing happened to me. After 3 hours with
a minimally trained New Delhi MS Tech support guy, the
best he could come up with was a repair install which
couldn't completely uninstall SP2. Now I have to
reformat HD and reinstall XP. Screw you Microsoft for
releasing a flawed product with insufficient de-bugging.
