Do not run Windows Live at startup.....

Hello:

I am running 8.5.1302.1018 which always comes on a boot up and I don't want
it to come on unless I start it manually. I can't find a toggle off. Is
there a way other than config?

Greetings Jim,

It's there. Just open up any Messenger window, press the Alt key on the keyboard to bring up
the menu bar, then choose Tools, then Options, then the Sign In category. Finally uncheck
the "Automatically run Windows Live Messenger when I log on to Windows" and click OK.

This method worked with me, I have tried this also on a Windows Vista
Ultimate 32-bit computer and it worked also.

Start > (Type in System Configuration in the Start Search) > Click on
it > Click OK for UAC > Click on the Startup Tab and DESELECT Windows
Live Messenger > Click apply, and reboot

Logon and see if that works.
