I bought a windows computer with vista and Windows Mail. I set up my email
and now every email is downloading over and over again each time I hit send
and receive. I am on my fifth set up emails and have over 57,000 emails in
my "in" box. How can I reset Windows Mail to it's original (factory)
setting....meaning bringing it back to brand new. Also, how do I download
emails from my server only ONCE, and then only new emails from then on? Help
please!

Tools Menu -> Accounts

Select the account and click properties

Click "Advanced" Tab

Look for "Leave a copy of message on server" and, if there is a tick
there, click on it to remove tick

Click OK

If there is no tick there then you might have to discuss it with your
ISP

I had to reformat my laptop to a clean slate and i first backed up or saved my Outlook Email messages in *.pst. After I have reformattted my laptop and installed necessary software, i could no longer import my Outlook Messages with this error ..... FILE ACCESS IS DENIED. YOU DO NOT HAVE THE PERMISSION REQUIRED TO ACCESS THE .....*.pst

Please help me recover these files ... it contains my mails since 1996. Thanks
