Your question isn't entirely clear... but I have no problem transferring
photos from my digital cameras to Vista.
Vista usually does three things when you connect a digital camera via the
computer's USB port:
1) Autoplay menu pops-up, allowing you to choose the camera as an external
folder or choose software to transfer photos
2) system tray displays a balloon asking you if you need to load software to
perform photo transfer
3) Computer displays the camera as an external drive (removable disc).
I use either the autoplay pop-up menu or go to Computer and open the camera.
I transfer and copy files to and from the camera the same way I would with an
external HD or memory stick.
Also, I have no problems using card readers.
