how do i stop download???

I have my daughter's laptop set to automatically download
updates. She is leaving for college on Friday. We are on
a dial up connection since a recent move to the country
and SP2 has been downloading for TWO days! We need to
STOP it so we can get her computer ready for her to take
to school. It is agonizingly SLOW while being held
hostage by this SP2 download. From everything I have read
about SP2 I think we would prefer to wait until the bugs
are worked out anyway. We are well protected as far as
anti virus, firewall, etc. But every time we log on the
Windows update picks up where it left off. NOTHING seems
to stop it short of disconnecting. Right clicking, double
clicking, alt/ctrl/del... there is no option to cancel
this download? HOW do I stop this monster? We need quick
help. Thanks

How to Turn Off Automatic Updates - Click Start, click Control Panel, and
then double-click System. Click the Automatic Updates tab, and then click
Turn off automatic updating. I want to update my computer manually.
