How do I stop folders reverting back to vista type options??

I keep organizing my folders to the old windows xp type look
i.e... name , date modified etc. When I go back they are reverted back to
the vista look
i.e... date taken , tags , rating etc..
How
Is it possible to stop it doing this..its very annoying.

In theory it is possible. In practice, some people have done it. I
have tried on several times but have never had success. Perhaps Vista
frustrates me too much to continue. One day I hope to have the
ratings shown only in my MP3 library. That makes sense - they are the
only files I have that accept ratings. But that is just a pipe dream
of mine.

If you do a search of the news group archives (or on the net) for
changing vista default folder settings you should get a couple
walkthrough tutorials on how to accomplish the change. Good luck!
