How do I stop other users deleting items in the public folder?

Hello,

is there any way that I can stop other users from deleting things in
the public folder? For example I have put all of my music in the music
folder uder the main public folder so that my son can access it.
However I dont want him to be able to accidently delete anything, is
there a way that I can stop that from happening? I have tried setting
permissions and denied write access but all that does is stops him
from restoring anything from the recycle bin if he does delete it so
that is no good.

Any ideas gratefully received.

Many thanks in advance

Gary

Why not put the files in a directory under your User account and then share
it?

Hi thanks, I did think about that also but doesn't that just offer the
same options for reading and writing? I have not tried it yet but I
will give it a go.

Thanks again.

Not necessarily, by default, it just gives users read access, you can't add
or delete anything. Its worth a shot.
