How do I stop WMP adding files to its library?

Sorry, posted this first in Windows Media, realised it was the wrong forum.

XP Pro

I do not want WMP to search for or add file to its library, either when I
play them or for it to search for them.

iTunes is my default audio player.

I have gone into More Options and told it to Ignore most folders but I
cannot get an option to ignore the RIP folder in My Music

As far as I know, WMP will always monitor the Rip Music folder and
there's no way to disable this. The best you can probably do is change
the Rip location to a dummy, empty folder.
