How do I turn on mouse sonar (vista)?

Just been forcibly upgraded at work from win95 to vista. I'm partially
sighted, and one of the things I *still* can't suss out is being able to turn
on a "sonar" feature where you press the control key and get a series of
concentric circles explaining where you lost the mouse cursor . . . don't
laugh, if the mouse cursor is a rather indistinct blob amid more indistinct
blobs it does actually help if the one you're looking for is the one that
wriggles when you tell it to! :)

Anyone care to explain where I turn this on in vista?

The start menu has the 'ease of access' items.

Maybe it depends on the Mouse driver. I have a MS mouse (optical) and I just
went into Mouse | properties | Pointer Options| and turn on "show location
of pointer when I press the CTRL key", tested it, and it worked.

Control Panel>Mouse>Pointer Options tab>tick Show location of pointer when I
press the Control Key.
