I would like to uninstall the optional nVidia Video update. It's listed as
nVidia - Video- NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX on the update history. Is there a way
to uninstall these Optional Windows Update? This updated driver is unstable
and BSOD my system upon waking up from Sleep Mode. Unfortunately, I found out
days after the installation so I can't do System Restore. Thanks in advance
for any advices.

Have you tried "Programs and Features" in Control Panel? Maybe you can
uninstall via that.

Your best bet is to go to the nVidia site and download the drivers for your
card from there and install them.

Hi,
since yesterdays update [02.03.2009 (thread is nearly one year old)] my
display driver doesnt work properly. It was an optional nVidia update
and there is no way to remove it. The graphic driver is the latest
version since three month. Its like in this thread:
http://www.vistax64.com/vista-perfor...l-updates.html
A way to uninstall optional updates would be helpfull!

Go to Control Panel > Device Manager..

Find the video card in the list..

Right click on it and select properties..

Click on the 'driver' tab..

Use the option to roll back the driver..

Remember not to accept hardware drivers from Windows Update in the future..

Hello Lessing,

You should be able to uninstall your display driver from within Device
Manager as described above. You can also uninstall it from within
'_*Programs_and_Features*_'
if the driver is listed in the uninstall list. Sometimes you may need to
do this while in Safe Mode if it will not uninstall while logged in to
your user account normally.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
