In XP there was a way to have the file sizes totaled in the bottom of the
page.
It would give a total of all the files in that directory.

I can't seem to find this option in Vista.

My C drive keeps growing and I wish to see if it's my music or my pictures
that are the culprit.

I'm mathematically challenged so I need Vista to do the adding for me.

Or is there some add-on that will tell me where the bloat is????

please and thank you

Open an explorer window --> press Alt --> select View from the File
Menu---> toggle the Status Bar.

I must be doing something wrong
When I toggle the Status bar
all that comes up is
"18 items"
there is no measurement of how many kilobytes those 18 item take up.
If I go into a folder, I see the 'list' of files in the folder but then the
status bar
says
"1 item selected" and way over to the other side it says 42.0KB

I can't seem to find how to get a total of what's in a directory or what's
in a subdirectory

Right click on the folder in windows explorer. Then select properties. The
size is shown in the properties box that appears.

http://www.satsignal.eu/software/disk.html#ShowMan
Program to help recover disk space. Gives pie-chart view of disk
usage, including unused space, with the ability to drill down into
folders.

The file size count is.. for some weird reason, bottom-RIGHT of th
window with the file count bottom-left. Kinda silly if you ask me, inf
like that should be close together and you shouldnt have to look al
over the screen (harder if you have a bigger screen at a higher res)
but there you go
