Check for new drivers, especially Video and HardDrive.

Use MSCONFIG or DEFENDER to stop startup programs
Reboot and let it sit to if it still happens.

It could be that wordpad is not the stupid part of the equation. You
might want to consult wordpad help. If there is no way to do it via
formatting, you will most likely need to find something else that will
do what you wish, or just do the spacing you require manually.

Word Pad isn't a full blown word processor so it lacks a lot of
features some full blown product like Word the word processing
application that comes with Office offers.

If you want to double space, just hit Enter anytime you want a line
break. I know crude, but it will work.

Gee... kinda funny you use that handle and then expect folks in the
Vista.General ng to drop everything they're doing and run to help you.

WordPad has not changed in years. Your inability to double space in WordPad
has nothing to do with Vista. One can only assume from your post that you're
new to Windows.

As norm replied, you'll have to manage that yourself in Wordpad, or get a wp
program that'll do that for you. Many here recommend OpenOffice. It's free.
While I'm not an OO user myself, I'd really be surprised if OO's word
processor did not offer the ability to double space.

Normally, this is where I offer the op "good luck." With the handle you're
using, I will not be offering that sentiment. Personally, whether one likes
Vista or not "makes no never mind to me," but I must admit I find your
handle inappropriate, given the forum in which you choose to use it. Change
it to "F*ckOSX," post some stuff in Apple's discussion forums, and let us
know how you make out.

You probably don't. WordPad is a very basic word processor for light tasks.
If you need more functionality than WordPad provides you should consider
using a more powerful word processor.
