As I said, aesthetics.

You could have the 'registered owner' be "Holy Mackerel" and the username
"Franky" and the computer would work fine. Registered user and a user on
the computer can have the same name, or not. It doesn't matter for anything
but aesthetics. Your proof of ownership is the CD/DVD and product
key/licensed sticker/etc.
