In Vista, you will find the former Add/Remove Programs (XP) in Control
Panel>Programs & Features.

The PC Decrapifier
The PC Decrapifier will uninstall many of the common trialware and
annoyances found on many of the PCs from big name OEMs.

I was told at Best Buy that if I removed it using the Add/Remov
Programs that it would still be there and cause problems. For $129 the
could remove it from the BOOT up process and then it wouldn't pop u
again and it wouldn't hamper my future processing speed. Wil
Add/Remove Programs clear everything out

Thats Best Buys way of saying, we want your money. I personally recommend
removing utilities like AntiSpyware and Antivirus in Diagnostics mode
though.

whilst you can get rid of some of it using the add/remove programs control
panel (or whatever it's called in vista), you will not be able to turn it
into a nice clean plain fast OS installation because the manufacturer will
likely as not have included branded versions of IE, other disk partitions,
spurious device drivers etc - if you go with dell you'll get the abomination
of media direct for example

luckily I have an MSDN subscription so if I get a new laptop I just
reinstall it with the vaniila OS from MSDN, and download only the drivers i
need

Problem 1: Asking for computer advice @ BestBuy.

The reason for this is either 1) whomever you talk too is some minimum
wage lackey that barely knows sh*t about computers....or 2) they are
counting on the fact that you will believe some bs story about your PC in
order to sell you some uneeded and expensive service.....like in this
instance.

Ouch! When I bought my Vista laptop three months ago Circuit City was
only going to charge me $59 to remove all that bloatware. I said no
thanks. For other reasons I wound up buying the laptop at Staples and
cleaning out the files myself.
