how do you switch to windows update from microsoft update

I would like to now how to switch my computer over to windows update, instead
of it using microsoft update. Please reply if you know how to, i would
greatly appreciate the help.

Go to update.microsoft.com
Click in the left pane "Change Settings"
Scroll down on page in right pane and and put a checkmark in "Disable
Microsoft Update software and let me use Windows Update only " and hit button
"Apply changes now".

Will also solve the "Checking for the latest updates for your computer..."
never ending.

If he's running Vista, he can't "go to update.microsoft.com".
