just want to find out whether 3rd party backup / recovery of the target
folders caused any issues ?

Eg

if i recover files/folder that are 10 days ago to a repllication partner,
will it be overwritten by the ones that has the latest timestamps ?

Just to be sure they don't recover them to a folder you create.

I don't know if this is relevant, but regarding the backup procedure, you
might want to check whether you have any issues with the archive bit set.
I've read that in some cases it could cause unnecessary replication.
