I have noticed that dreamscene uses a bit of CPU, does it get paused
automatically when a full screen application or game is run ?

Thanks

Thats hard to tell, but I notice when I log out and log back in, it seems to
be paused then resumed. It Auto starts every time I log into Vista too.

If I remember correctly, the entire DWM is paused along with dreamscene when
running a full screen app.

Well I think i just answered my own question, by making windows mail
fullscreen and observing the cpu usage it seems that it does get paused when
a window is made full screen, Im guessing therefore that a full screen game
would also pause it.
Thanks for the reply Andre

Well, the CPU cycle seems to decrese, but its not entirely paused. DWM is
always running if AERO is running.

I tested by running a video of timecode as dreamscene, that is definitely
paused during full screen games, but you're of course right that DWM is
still technically running.

Thanks for the clarification.

I know I'm a little late to the party but I can confirm that DreamScene
pauses when a window is full-screened. I know this because I run with
dual monitors and if a window is maximized on one screen, DreamScene
pauses on the other screen. I'm really hoping the team fixes this bug
soon.
