I am creating several Virtual Servers, Newsid will be very handy if it
supports these 2 OSes.

Hi Andrew,

I haven't tried it, but that tool hasn't been updated since before Vista was
released. Looking at how it affects registry keys, it's feasible that it
should work if run as an admin, but I can't find any documentation to
support it.

You'd need to ask the developers, distributors or support folks for Newsid
if they support or plan on supporting Vista.

It's one of the sysinternal tools Microsoft took over in 2006, Richard. I
checked Mark's technet pages and blog but couldn't find anything relevant.
The affected registry keys don't look to be much different than XP's, but
I'm not sure on the SID scheme naming (whether they are the same in
XP/Vista), though I suspect they are.
