Does Norton Anti-Virus affect Windows Update?

Hi all,

I like to know does Norton Anti-Virus affect Windows Update?

Because after installing Norton Anit-Virus, my newly installed Windows XP,
patch to SP2, Windows auto update fails. The yellow shield will just appear
at the lower right corner of the screen and never downloads the patches. As
for manual download using Windows Update v5, the installation will fail after
download.

What could cause my problem? If Norton Anit-virus does affect windows
Update, are there any methods to make both Anti-Virus and Windows update to
work?

Any recommendations will be appreceated... Thanks...

Many folks in these newsgroups do NOT recommend using Norton at all. Know
you know why. Remove it all together.

Working okay for me NAV 2005 - WU (Automatic) is starting to download now - took
awhile for it to get started though.
