Hi,

Sometime back, we update to the new IE. When the Anti-Virus and Spybot
asked about changing the register it was not allowed and the program would
not work. OK, I remove it and re-install it and allowing it to be registerd
as it should be; and it works fine.

I have noted that a failure to register can happen even when I wish to
fully accept the register changes, as one can be requested to restart the
machine; and that can get accepted before Spybot and the Anti-Virus have
finished presenting the register change requests, or we (software and me)
have time to respond properly. So is there a way to tell if the security
and other updates are installed properly. As I note that one can get many
of them to re-installed by removing them in 'Add or Remove Programs' and
have them re-installed by going to the Windows Update page. This machine
may not be working the best at times. So I'm wondering if foiled updates
may be the problem.

Sincerely,

Kenton & Greg MELLOTT

Either of these programs should check to see if updates are installed correctly
