I have Vista Basic in my Dell notebook. I have been trying to install CS3 but
it doesn't work. Taken advice from friend, I have unchecked the box on User
Account Access in Control Panel before I install CS3 from dekstop. But it's
still not working !

Is it because of hardware problem on my Dell laptop ie. graphic card or
something else which you guys may be able to help me.

Please advise how should I get around this problem.

Thank you.

Not Vista Home Basic though.

Photoshop CS3 system requirements:

a.. Microsoft® Windows® XP with Service Pack 2 or Windows VistaT Home
Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise (certified for 32-bit editions)

You could always use Ulead Photoimpact 12 instead. I'm running it under
Vista Home Premium
with no problems.

Try setting the Install.exe program Properties--> Compatibility tab to XP
Compatible. Then run as administrator.

Thanks for all the comments and suggestion.

I have tried the ways suggested by you ie. set compatibility to XP, run as
administrator, but teh software still has no respond to it.

Am regreted to have Vista Home Basic installed to my laptop purchased. I
should have at least purchase the Vista Home Premium, which is one of the OS
system specified by Adobe.

Anyway, if anyone does has any idea to get around this problem, please do
let me know.

Perhaps consider buying a "Windows Anytime Upgrade" from Vista Home Basic to
Vista Home Premium, if it's available to you:
