I can get 5.1 24bit/48kHz surround WMAapro10 .wma files to playback with
WMP11,
but 5.1 24bit/96kHz .wma won't play (an error message shows indicating
possible format not support).
Is 5.1 24/96 format not supported in WMP11?

The wma files were created converted from 5.1 24/96 PCM wave files to wma
using dBPowerAmp music converter.
