Yes I agree that the PW should be changed with the cluster.exe and not via
services. But, if the PW was changed via services and the service restarted,
does the cluster group need to be brought offline? I'm asking as after our
last password change (I wasn't responsible for the change this time) I
experienced some issues when rebooting passive nodes. After I rebooted a
node, the service wouldn't join the cluster group no matter what I tried. It
wasn't only until I brought the cluster group completly offline could the
node rejoin the cluster. I tried to search to see what happens if you change
the PW on a cluster node via services and not have the Cluster service start
and successfully rejoin the cluster.
