Hi,

Can Vista Home Premium be setup as a Domain? All I can see is the Workgroup
option.

Thanks

No, of course not. To create a domain, you would need to start with a
server operating system, such as WinNT 4.0 Server (may it rest in
peace), Win2K Server, or Windows Server 2003.

WinXP Pro, or Vista Business or Ultimate, as a workstation
operating system, is an excellent choice for a client OS to use on the
domain's workstations. Win98, WinXP or Viasta Home, however, are not
designed to, nor can truly be made to, join a WinNT, Win2K or Win2K3 domain.

John,

Vista Home Premium is similar to Windows XP Media Center Edition, in
the sense that it *is* better than the "low-end" version (e.g. XP
Home) but it still has the domain capability stripped away. You'll
need Vista Business or better to join a domain.
