Don't have disc for Windows XP Home Edition

I recently discovered that the disc I had from Tiny which I thought contained
all the Windows XP files does not contain these and is only for basic
drivers. When my hard drive failed and I had to have it replaced, the shop
had to format the disc and reinstall Windows XP for me as I didn't have the
necessary files. Therefore, should I ever need to reinstall Windows XP I am
unable to do so myself and could only do this through a PC shop. I have been
toying with buying a full version of Windows XP. Would it be worth it and
does anyone have any other workarounds or suggestions?

The company from which you first bought the computer is/was required to
provide you with a method to reinstall the operating system if necessary.
Your problem originates with them.

I understand that. Unfortunately they (Tiny) went out the game before I
realised I was short of the necessary disc

Hello kate,

If you have the installation ID you can phone microsoft and say that your
oem disc is lost , they will provide you with a new one for about 36 dollars
or so, i had one replaced for 20 euros.

Best regards,
