DOS Exploit????What is this?

I have had trouble with spyware for the past three days. I have changed my
software and run numerous virus scans but DOS Exploit shows up on Spybot
Search and Destroy. Apparently this thing has attached itself to my windows
operating system. I was told by a guy at McAfee to download Windows Update
and that would eliminate it. I have tried to download Windows Update but to
no avail. I get a message reading Error Number: 0x8007043C. I am stuck. IN
THE NAME OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!!!

1. It's an as-yet-unaddressed Spybot bug. As long as your IE homepage is
the one you've chosen, you can have Spybot ignore it.

2. There was a Spybot update released today.
