After installing .Net 3 SP1 (version 3.1.21022.8)

Windows Update (or trying to install manually) refuses to install
KB932471....

Gives the same error everyone was having awhile back..

"The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service
because
the program to be upgraded may be missing" yada, yada, etc....

Is there any solution for this yet?

Thanks for any help you can provide...

Hotfix 932471 requires .NET Framework 3.0. You have .NET Framework 3.0 SP1
installed now which /includes/ this hotfix. IOW, you don't need it. If
you're experiencing "Cannot open this document because your permissions have
expired" errors, something else is wrong.

I know that its not needed, I'm just wondering if there is a fix for this
problem, so it doesn't show on windows update.....

I know that 3.0 sp1 includes the hotfix, but microsoft screwed up
somewhere and the registry entries for it are not getting properly
installed...

So even though the fix is there, it still shows as being needed....

Just curious if this has or is going to be fixed......

Thanks for taking time to reply. I appreciate it...

To keep track of things, it helps immensely if you include all of previous
message(s) in your replies to the newsgroup. Thank you.

Please state your Windows version.

Are you saying that .NET Framework 3.0 SP1 is installed and Windows Update
and/or Automatic Updates is offering you 923471?

1. Stop the Automatic Updates service:

Start > Run > (type in) services.msc > [OK]
Double-click Automatic Updates > Click on Stop
(Stopping the service will take a moment)

2. Delete the contents of the Download folder:

Start > Run > (type in) %windir%\SoftwareDistribution > [OK]
Open the Download folder and delete its contents
Close the window.

3. Go to Windows Update website & scan for updates (Custom) > Uncheck 932471
and "hide" it ("Don't show me this update again").

4. Start the Automatic Updates service:

Start > Run > (type in) services.msc > [OK]
Double-click Automatic Updates > Click on Start
(Starting the service will take a moment)
